I got shoes!

In my last week’s 52-week challenge post I wrote about my need for new shoes. Well, that same day we went out and got the cheapest shoes we could find. I must say, they aren’t the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had, but I’m sure once I’ve worn them in a bit they won’t be too bad!

Shoes

I love the way they look though, cuz they’re so cute and serve their purpose admirably. It just goes to show that a little pressure/stress can go a long way in helping me find suitable shoes at bargain prices. Maybe I should always go about it like that. I might have more luck shopping than I’ve had up to now. I think that was the fastest that my husband and I ever bought shoes. And for such a reasonable price, I’m sure it won’t matter if they don’t last forever.

Don’t you just love cute shoes though?

Week 11: Shoes, Please!

Today I decided to do something a little different for my 52-week challenge. I decided to do a collage with 2 pictures. Or maybe it’s a diptych. Or something like that. Maybe it’s just two pictures together. Whatever it is, I thought they were both nice, so I wanted to use them both – because they complement each other. Especially with this week’s topic in mind. Where last week I first made one and then used it for the second one, this week, it’s just two different photos posted together.

Ok, that was the explanation about my choice of photos. Before I got to post my photo though, I had some trouble getting the colours right. Somehow when I looked at the photo in Photoshop everything was right. But as soon as I saved it as a jpg, the colours were dull and everything came out completely wrong. That really frustrated me. So I searched on the Internet trying to find the cause. There were a few leads, but nothing concrete. But then I went through the colour profiles and finally figured out my problem. I had selected a very obscure colour profile in the Camera RAW importer plugin in Photoshop. That had screwed everything up. Somehow it always uses the last used colour profile to import images in Camera RAW (and I had used this obscure one for a specific photo, not knowing what I know now). When I fixed that, everything worked fine again. So note to self: NEVER use obscure weird colour profiles. No matter how tempting. They don’t work outside of Photoshop.

week11

My topic this week is “Shoes, please!” because I’m in desperate need of shoes for summer. I have no slip slops, no sandals, no open shoes. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. (The shoes in the photo are my old ones that don’t fit anymore…they are so worn out.) So, I need to find some. Soon. Because I need them tomorrow. And those of you who know me, will also know that I hate shopping for shoes. It’s impossible to find shoes that fit. I think my feet are not the same size. It’s annoying.

Ah well…that’s my task for today. Find shoes. So without further ado, I will go out on my mission. If I find some nice ones, I’ll post a photo here. So, check this space…I might soon be walking all over it in my new shoes. Lol.

Garden photo update

So, yesterday I promised to put up some photos that I took in my mom’s garden, in case they turned out alright. Some weren’t half bad, so I’m posting them here. Today was really a lovely day. I even managed quite a bit of work, which just goes to show that a little determination can go a long way. And tonight we went out to celebrate our anniversary with a lovely dinner. It really tasted great and it was just fun going out and forgetting about work and focusing on celebrating. And eating. I even took a few photos which I’ll post here when I’ve processed them. :)
